Pugs shed quite a bit because they have a dense, double-layered coat. They shed year-round, but you may notice more hair loss during seasonal changes, like spring and fall, when they “blow” their coat. Regular brushing, about 2-3 times a week, helps manage the shedding by removing loose hair. Pugs also shed more if they’re stressed, sick, or not getting enough nutrition. If the shedding seems excessive or accompanied by skin issues, it’s worth consulting your vet to rule out allergies or health problems.
