To stop your Pug from begging for food, be consistent. Never feed them from the table, as it reinforces the behavior. Instead, stick to scheduled mealtimes and feed them in a separate area while you eat. Teach the “place” command to send them to their bed during meals. If they beg, ignore them—don’t give in, even with eye contact, as any attention can encourage the habit. Offer praise or treats only when they stay calm and don’t beg. Provide toys or chewables to keep them distracted during your meals. With patience and consistency, your Pug will learn begging doesn’t pay off!
