I kept it simple and calm. I messaged: “Hey, I just wanted to check in about the money from last month — is everything okay?” That way it didn’t sound aggressive, just honest. It was hard not to sound annoyed, but I reminded myself — if they’re truly my friend, they’ll understand. If not… well, maybe I need to rethink the friendship.
